Redgrave and Lopham Fen

As part of our topic about rivers we went to on a field trip to Redgrave and Lopham Fen to look at the River Waveney.

We found the source - which was very muddy.

At different points along the river we measured the width, depth and temperature.

The first measurement was 1m 20cm wide but very quickly it increased to 7m.

We also sketched the views of the Fen.
After lunch we took part in different water activities, learning about the water cycle, meanders and water conservation. It was an enjoyable day out!
